Maia Thomas is a graphic harvester, illustrator and facilitator with a background in social and environmental justice campaigns. A life long learner, she has studied fine art, illustration, politics and sustainable horticulture, and has an MA in Sustainable Design. She is passionate about supporting people to communicate complex ideas and uses her love for the arts and creativity to do this in engaging and accessible ways.
She has worked for range of clients, including Engineers Without Borders Ireland, Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru (Welsh Youth Parliament) and HSE, as well as many universities, charities and grassroots organisations across Ireland and the UK. She is a firm believer in the power of play, puts energy and humour into her drawings in a way that brings stories and ideas to life. When she’s not drawing, she is mostly found among the trees.
Previously living in Cork, Maia has recently crossed the sea to Wales, but is still taking bookings for online events, and illustration, and can travel for in-person work. She also offers workshops on visual communication and drawing!
Maia is particularly interested to work with organisations from the following sectors:
-
Universities
-
Academic research
-
Environmental
-
